Why should we help?
Western interview strategies applied to Domestic Helpers fall short of expectations here in Singapore.
Educational and cultural references are far different, and most candidates are programmed by agencies (they are asked to learn scripts from videos that show standardised answers); therefore their behaviour and answers when interviewed are conducive to severe misunderstanding or even incomprehensibility.
How do we help?
Our interview services comprise two components that can be purchased separately:
The H.E.L.P. Guide for Interview:
"How to Interview a Domestic Helper?"
Contents: the topics covered in this exclusive guide are the result of the combined expertise of the H.E.L.P. agency staff. It includes:
- Introduction to cultural references of candidates,
- Topics to be addressed during an interview,
- Template of an interview,
- Examples of questions,
- Explanation of behaviour,
- Interpretation of answers,
- Methods of comparing candidates.
One Face-to-Face Meeting: Interview Insights
Contents: The goal of this private course is to personalise and adapt the information in the Handbook to your own environment and expectations so you can draw a clear list of attributes you can reasonably expect of the candidate. The course goes more deeply into details of cultural differences. At your request, the meeting can take place in the privacy of your home. |
